Nutrition advice

What is nutrition advice for?

Proper nutrition is one of the key conditions for a child's growth and development. Since every age has its own needs, a feeding plan should suit the child's age, weight and general condition.

Which topics are discussed?

During the consultation we discuss topics such as infant feeding, when and how to introduce solid foods, daily meal routine, poor appetite and picky eating. The child's height and weight are also taken into account.

Individual recommendations

Every child is different. That is why I give recommendations that suit your child's needs and your family's daily life. If you have concerns about feeding, we can discuss them in detail during the appointment.

How to book an appointment

You can book a nutrition consultation by phone, via WhatsApp or through the contact form on the website.

How to prepare for the consultation

A few days of food diary make the appointment far more productive: what the child ate, how much and at what times, how the appetite changed and which foods were refused. Bring recent weight and height measurements too — a feeding plan is always assessed together with the growth curve (routine check-ups).

If you suspect an allergy, note which food was followed by which sign and how long it lasted. Precise observation is far more useful than a guess.

What you get from the appointment

A practical feeding plan for the child's age and condition, advice on the daily routine, and concrete steps for poor appetite, fussy eating or moving on to solid foods. Where needed, we review at a follow-up how well the plan is working.

The sources below give the general international recommendations; the plan for your child is individual and does not replace them but adapts them to your child.

How to keep a feeding diary

Three to five days of notes are usually enough. The more specific the diary, the more productive the appointment.

What to recordWhy it helps
Time and foodShows how the daily routine is actually arranged
Approximate amountTurns "eats very little" into something measurable
Foods refusedClarifies the picture of selective eating
Fluid intakeWater, milk and juices are worth noting separately
Mood and appetiteShows at which times of day appetite is better

The diary should be accurate but need not be perfect — even if a few entries are missed, the overall picture still comes through.

When is a follow-up needed?

A feeding plan works gradually rather than immediately. A follow-up appointment is therefore usually arranged to assess how the plan is working: weight and height are measured again, the diary is reviewed together, and the plan is adjusted where needed.

The plan has to fit the family

If a feeding recommendation does not fit the family's daily life, it simply does not get followed. That is why your work schedule, the nursery routine, who feeds the child at home and your kitchen habits are all taken into account. A simple plan that fits real circumstances is far more useful than a perfect plan that is never carried out.

How is progress assessed?

Progress with feeding is not measured by a single figure. How weight and height are moving along the growth curve, how appetite varies through the day, how the child behaves at the table and how comfortably the family can follow the plan are all taken into account together. At the follow-up, therefore, we look not only at the numbers but at your everyday experience: what turned out to be easy, what did not work and why.

If part of the plan is not working, that is not a failure — it is simply information showing which part needs to change.
